Check out my review for: Easy (Contours of the Heart #1) By: Tammara Webber

NOTE: This is a "New Adult" novel. Due to mature content this title is recommended for ages 17+

Synopsis: He was lost and alone. Then he found her.

And the future seemed more fragile than ever.

As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed.

All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy…

As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat.

Author Interview:

Hi Tammara! It’s great to have you back on my blog again! And I’m really excited to be talking with you about some of my favorite characters from Easy and now having a chance to revisit them in Breakable. I can’t wait!

Thank you! :)

So, how about we get started?

I know one thing that I’ve been wondering about since you announced you were writing Easy from Lucas’s point of view... when did you know you wanted to go back and tell their story from his perspective?

I actively planned for no sequel, and had no idea of writing Lucas’s story until he began speaking to me – about a year after I published Easy, which came to me from Jacqueline’s perspective only. The story of Breakable was as much a surprise to me as it was to readers when I announced it, which may not sound as plan-intensive as people assume authors are. I guess I’m letting you guys behind the curtain a bit. ;)

Also, was this easier or harder than writing Easy? Speaking of, what was the easiest part in writing this one and the hardest?

Much more difficult, for the most part – technically, not emotionally. The incorporation of Landon’s story into Lucas’s narration of his relationship with Jacqueline, and frankly just rewriting the portions I chose to rewrite – these were technically challenging to me as a writer, and not something I’d ever attempted to do. Taking a story and dialogue that is set in stone and putting a different spin on it to keep it interesting for the reader (and the writer!) – verytricky. The writing of Landon’s portions was the “easiest” from a story-crafting standpoint. Emotionally, those parts were often gut-punching.

What was the most important part for you when you realized you weren’t finished with their story?

Deciding whether that meant I “had” to write it. I have stories in my head concerning my characters from my first series – but that doesn’t mean I’ll ever write them. I have too many story ideas and not enough time. Writing this book took time from other possible projects. I’m glad I did it, but I didn’t make that decision on a whim. I thought long and hard before committing my energies to it.

Can you ask Lucas and Jacqueline how they feel about revisiting their lives during that time?

It wasn’t a revisit for them – at least that’s not how it felt to me. It was Lucas, telling his story.

And also I’d love to know, Jacqueline, what’s the most romantic thing Lucas has done recently? And Lucas, has Jacqueline done anything romantic for you recently and if so, care to share?

Those things are detailed in Breakable. And yes, Lucas is an artist – and all about the details. ;)

Is this the last we'll hear from Lucas and Jacqueline? Or will you be continuing their story?

I promised Easy’s readers, when I published it, that Easy was a stand-alone – that there was no cliffhanger, etc. In writing Breakable, I pushed the boundaries of that promise. A sequel would require new conflict. There’s no such thing as a romance (a good romance) that doesn’t include conflict and angst and often, heartbreak. I just won’t put either of them through more of that. That said – see the next answer. :)

And lastly, what can you tell us about what you're working on now and when we might get a chance to read it?

I have two story ideas in mind using secondary characters from Easy and Breakable. I have pending discussions with my agent, my editor, and my muse before I decide what I’m working on next. For now, I’m marketing Breakable, doing a few signings, and starting lots of brainstorming and research for the next book!

Thanks again for taking the time out to visit with us! It’s always exciting to have you and please come back again soon!

Thanks so much for having me! <3

About the Author:

Tammara Webber is author of the New York Times bestselling New Adult novel Easy, the first novel in her Contours of the Heart series, and the Between the Lines series.  She is a hopeful romantic who adores novels with happy endings, because there are enough sad endings in real life.  Before writing full-time, she was an undergraduate academic advisor, economics tutor, planetarium office manager, radiology call center rep, and the palest person to ever work at a tanning salon.  She married her high school sweetheart, and is a mom to three adult kids and four very immature cats.  Connect with her online at tammarawebber.blogspot.com, twitter.com/tammarawebber, and www.facebook.com/TammaraWebberAuthor.
